like a kid in a candy store

Jillyn & Brandon were over to work on her car. Cooper loves tools and loves to help. He got right in there to help Brandon & Jeff fix Jillyn's car.

Jillyn & I went to Walmart to get a couple of things. I had to get nails. As we were walking down the aisle, Cooper had to get out so he could touch every little screw, or nail, or anything he could reach. He was in heaven in the hardware aisle.

Labor Day

We had a relaxing Labor day. We ran a couple of errands then came home and waited for Jillyn & Brandon to come over for a BBQ in our backyard.

Crazy Aunt Jillyn!

Jeff bought a basketball so the girls could shoot some hoops. They both really like it. Daisy is actually really good at making baskets.
We ended the night with a walk to get some shaved ice. Yummy! Not good that it is super close to my house. Cooper and I might just walk down there everyday.

Lindsay Lu!

Lindsay has been telling me about this bear that they get to bring home. The teacher gives it to one person everynight for being good. She has been kind of obsessed about getting to bring it home. You should have seen her face when she came out of school holding that thing.
I happened to have taken a picture of her that morning. Because for 1. She was wearing a shrug and 2. She was wearing a head band. We're branching out.

Homework with a little entertainment

Have I already mentioned how much I love this weather? We can go out front after school and the whole yard is shaded. We get out our picnic blanket and do homework. Of course Cooper has to put on a show for us. So this is Cooper's latest thing. He rides his bike down the sidewalk and tips his bike on purpose and lets it run him over. He then lays there for a couple of minutes and pretends to be dead.
Then he wakes up and is an animal. In this case he was a cat. He starts crawling towards us and meows. Weird I know. I have no clue where he comes up with this stuff. But he gets a good laugh so he keeps doing it over and over. Nice diaper.

Our walk to school

The girls ride their bikes or scooters or just walk to school. It is usually a family affair. The horses aren't usually out in the morning but we took this walk on a Saturday evening so they were out. There were 2 of them and the kids were picking the grass for them to eat. They were super friendly. It's a good thing they aren't out in the morning cause there would be alot of kids late for school. We spent a good 15 minutes there.

Cooper always has to say There's the sunflowers everytime we pass this bush. Kind of funny.

The girls had to show us their playgrounds so this is the back of the school. I still can't get over the view. So beautiful.

And that's the fun trip we get to take every morning and afternoon. I love it.

Reunited

Cooper would just dig in the dirt cause all of his toys were in AZ. When Jeff came back and unloaded Cooper's toys you should have seen his eyes. He was so excited to see his trucks. He actually added some indoor ones to his outdoor collection. To say he is happy is an understatement. And I thought he played outside alot before, now I have to beg him to come in to eat or drink something.

We made brownies for the girls when they got home. Notice the long sleeve shirt. It's Aug. 25th. We ran to Costco in the morning and it was actually really cold outside. Love it.

temple dedication

Daisy and I were able to go to the broadcast of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication. Jeff was going to go but since we were able to move in to our house, Jeff flew to AZ to rent a Uhaual to get all our stuff in storage. I dropped Lindsay & Cooper off at Jillyn's and we went to her stake center. It was such a neat experience to share with my daughter. She enjoyed it too. When we came out it was raining and when we pulled into Jillyn's parking lot this is what I saw. Daisy and I started laughing.

He was in heaven jumping in the puddles.
We went home and took naps then we went to the Provo temple and walked around. I think we found our new Sunday spot. It was so beautiful to walk around. The kids beg daily to go.

Cooper is in his element

Ok this has nothing to do with my post but it is so funny. We came home after running some errands and this is what we saw in the front window of our house. It's a pair of Cooper's underwear. The girls were laughing so hard. I'm not sure how they ended up there because he doesn't wear them.Anyways the real post. Our backyard. I love this place. So many tall trees and shade. Cooper is in heaven.
Cooper goes outside and digs in the dirt all day. I don't know why I get him dressed in the morning because he is so filthy at the end of the day.
There's a spot that grass doesn't grow and of course that's his favorite spot.

First day of school

We found our house Tuesday night, August 18th, and school started the next day. Nothing like cutting it close. So the girls missed the first day of school because we went over on Wed. afternoon to sign our lease then we headed over to the school to register them. We drove them to school on Thursday morning since we were still living with my grandparents. Lindsay was super excited and Daisy was super nervous. She really was fighting the tears which was really hard for me too.Daisy is in 4th grade. She got a male teacher, Mr. Bellak. He seems really cool.
Lindsay is in 1st grade and has 2 teachers, Mrs. McKinney, Mrs. Torres.
Jeff kept trying to guess all these animals that the mascot could be. Like wolves or cougars, something that has to do with living in Utah or the mountains. Nope. They're the Rock Canyon Roadrunners. Good thing we left AZ to be a roadrunner. The girls were kind of disappointed until I told them I was a roadrunner when I lived in MO. Didn't help too much.

You should have seen this kid walking the halls with us. He thought he was large and in charge. I really think he thought he was at his school.

The principal walked us to Lindsays classroom first. She met one of her teachers and she took her to her desk and said she could just wait for the kids to come in. We took Daisy to her class and she met her teacher and he had a girl in the class help her find a desk and get situated. It was actually harder this year to leave Daisy. She was super uneasy about not knowing a soul.

This is the view from there school. You actually can see Angel Moroni from their school. How cool is that?
I couldn't wait to pick them up! This is how they looked when they came out. I would say they had a great day! Even Daisy. The first thing she said to me was, "Guess what mom, all my friends are mormon!"

Moving Day

Didn't we just do this? We knew our time in Idaho was temporary but it went way too fast. We weren't ready to leave. We tried with all our power to stay but there were no jobs there for us. We decided we weren't ready to go back to AZ yet so we headed to UT. Nothing like the unknown. So we moved on August 4th. Cooper didn't know what was going on and he didn't like the fact that we packed his pack n play. I walked into his room to vacuum and he was laying on the floor with all his blankets and toys.
Daisy and Lindsay's room.

Our friends, The Moore's, were also moving that week so we had to have one last play date with them. This is Alyssa & Lindsay. They played so good together.

The Hall kids and the Moore kids.

Bunch of crazies!
Jenny, me, and our fun bunch of kids. They all had so much fun together. They were the one reason it was hard for us to leave. But I knew they were leaving too so it made it a little easier for us. Not really, but kind of.
Daisy and Megan. 2 peas in a pod. Seriously, Daisy has never had such a good friend like her before. They played every single day together. I sure hope she finds more friends like Megan in her life.

Lindsay & Alyssa. The 2 crazies.

One last picture of our apartment. Just to remember that we had to walk 3 flights of stairs everytime we went anywhere. Grocery shopping=not fun.

Beverly Hillbillies, that's us. So much cheaper that renting a Uhaul. I got to follow Jeff the whole way to Utah. Such a fun view. These were seriously some very trying and exhausting times, but also some of the best months too.
