March happenings

We had a big snow storm over the weekend. This was the night my grandma passed away. We came home from grandpas and enjoyed the snow. By the time we had the graveyard service, it was all melted. My mom and Aunt JaNae were here until March 23rd. It was nice to have my mom here for 3 weeks, considering the circumstance. Her and my aunt went through my grandmas house and cleaned things out. We went over there almost everyday to visit and my mom came and spent time at our house. But I didn't get one picture with her and my kids. How sad is that?

We also found out that our landlord is letting us out of our lease a couple of months early. We will be heading back to Az at the end of May. We are letting the kids finish school. We have loved living here, but I am ready to be with Jeff again. This hasn't been fun.
That's our exciting March.

library

Cooper goes to the library once a week for storytime. He goes into a classroom without me and he thinks it's pretty cool. I love the Provo library. Cooper calls it a castle.
Daisy has been reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid. We went and saw the movie and it was hilarious!

How cool is this library?

cousins

My sister in law Mindi was in Utah for a wedding and came down to Provo for a night to visit. This was the only picture I got. Cooper and Kasen having a bath. We had fun while they were here. We played in the backyard and then went to dinner. We wore them out. Cooper was so excited to have Kasen sleepover. I didn't get any pictures of Avery or my girls.

In other news, Cooper thinks he's a dog.

Banners

I love making banners. I also made one for Valentine's day, but I took it down before I got a picture of it. It's kind of an obsession and I keep thinking of different ones I can make. I made Cooper's because we are trying to get him to learn his letters to spell his name.

I can't wait to make a boy celebrate banner for Cooper and Jeff's birthday.

Grandma's funeral

Grandmas funeral was perfect. We wanted to keep it short and sweet. My grandpa said he would stand up and walk out if it was longer than an hour. haha. He's still got his charm. Love it. It was exactly an hour long and was beautiful. The grandkids and great grandkids sang, my cousin Julie gave her life sketch and my uncle Steve gave the talk. All in all it was a great day. After the luncheon we went to Uncle Kenns and hung out and then we went to grandpas for more visiting.

Somehow Jeff ended up with all the kids at his table. But that's ok, he had fun with them and said they were at the fun table.
Daisy thinks she is too big for the fun table. haha!
I have the best cousins. It was so fun to see them and be together. We are missing a few here. There are 23 grandkids and 35 great grandkids so far. Lots of fun.

This is my grandpa Hansen and his sister, Geri.
Can we get a normal family picture? Of course not.
My Grandpa, Aunt Geri, Uncle Art, Aunt Ramona
Some of the great grandkids having fun.
Some of the cousins went out to lunch after the luncheon. haha. Sometimes funeral potatoes just don't cut it. Pizzeria 712. Yum Yum. Thanks for the laughs. It was so fun to visit. I am so lucky that I have so many cousins close to me in age. Love you guys!

Graveside Service

My grandma's funeral was not a typical one, but it turned out so nicely. She didn't want an open casket and made sure all of her kids knew that. And my grandpa said he didn't want to have a viewing and stand there. So we did something different, but so nice. On Monday afternoon we met as family and had a graveside service. My uncle said the family prayer, and my other uncle dedicated the grave. It was nice and intimate and we got to visit as family and remember our grandma. It was beautiful weather and in my mind totally perfect. I know my grandma would have been happy. Afterwards we went over to my grandparents house and we were able to go down in her storage room and my mom and aunt had gone through some of her stuff and we got to pick some things out. She loved puzzles and I was able to get quite a few. I love puzzles too. She also loves to play cards, another gene I got. One I am grateful for. We love to get together as a family and play cards. My girls loved looking at all her stuff.

My cousins, Amber & Aja with my mom and girls.
Daisy and Lily. How cute is that?
Cooper and Neils. What good little buddies.

The boys bringing grandmas casket to the sight.
The cute great grandsons helping. They were so cute.
Jeff was able to fly in for the weekend to be with us. I was so thankful for that.
My mom and the girls.

We love Grandpa Hansen.
My mom and aunt with their cousin Annette and her daughter.
Daisy in front of the casket. She kept telling me how beautiful the casket was.
Cameron, Gordon, Chris. What studly men.
Me and my cousin JaNae.

Grandma Hansen

This picture was taken a couple of years ago but it was the only one I could find with all my kids together. And baby Avery and my mom.

My grandma Hansen (my moms mom) passed away this morning. My uncle took her to the hospital on Sunday afternoon. She stayed there until Wednesday evening. I picked my mom and Aunt JaNae up at the airport on Tuesday afternoon. They headed over to the hospital to see her. My grandma told the nurses about her daughters in Arizona, but when they came she didn't recognize them as her daughters. It makes me sad to think about it, but I am so thankful that it went fast and she isn't suffering anymore. They moved her to a nursing home Wednesday night. Cooper and I went on Thursday, but she was out of it and didn't know we were there. She fell asleep Thursday afternoon, and passed away on Friday morning at 11am. My mom called me Friday morning about 9 and told me grandmas was going. Cooper and I went back over and I stayed there until she passed away. It was so peaceful in the room and I am glad I was able to be there, and I am so thankful Cooper was so nice. In fact this is what he looked like the whole time. He sat in a chair and watched cartoons. I explained to him what was happening to grandma and we were going to go say goodbye to her. Obviously she was asleep, but he said goodbye to her.
I am also so thankful that I took my girls over to my grandparents house the Friday night before she went to the hospital. In fact, it was the last day that she was her "normal" self. I am grateful I had that feeling to go, because I was just there a couple days earlier with Cooper. I am glad They have a good last memory of her. I am so grateful for the Atonement in my life, and know we will see her again.

Homework/Reading

I love when Daisy reads Cooper his books at night. He loves to snuggle with her while she reads.
Lindsay doing her homework. Not sure what the yellow bandaid is covering, but it's cute.
